(More customer reviews)My primary recommendation is these are >outstanding< work gloves.
My husband uses them for everything - shoveling (no blisters), building (excellent grip on wood, nails, hammers), and any time we have to burn brush. They have lambskin palms, the rest is Nomex, which is extremely fire-resistant - the same material used in pilots' flight suits & professional racing drivers' suits.) THEY ARE NOT FIRE - PROOF. You can still get burnt quite badly if you pick up burning items or material, or place your hands in a very hot place. Just don't do irresponsible things like that, it's highly dangerous, and NOT what the gloves are designed for.
The reason my husband loves these gloves is he flew a good bit in helicopters during his 20 years in the Air Force. He was issued 'flight gloves' and he really liked them. He retired in 2001, and his last pair of flight gloves were getting plain old worn out. I was absolutely thrilled to find these on Amazon; the picture looked right, so I ordered 2 pairs. I gave him the package when it arrived, and when he opened it, it was like a kid on Christmas morning! He said they were indeed the same gloves he was issued, and was amazed I'd found him more. I just told him I can find pretty much ANYTHING on Amazon.
